Speech Language Pathology Assistants (SLPA) Program
Vermont Consultants for Language and Learning, Inc., is pleased to offer a three-year certificate program for Speech-Language Pathology Assistants. Through a partnership with Union Institute and University, participants are able to earn college credit for courses offer by VCLLI. The SLPA Certificate Program is ideal for those currently working as SLPAs and those who would like to explore a career in Speech-Language Pathology. Click here for our list of class DATES. Click here to download our registration form. The SLPA program prepares graduates to work under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist. Students who successfully complete the program will demonstrate mastery of the speech and language competencies outlined by the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association for SLPAs and a proficiency in working effectively with others to deliver high-quality services. The curriculum recognizes that many participants in the program have life or work experiences in schools and/or with individuals with communication disorders. The diverse experiences enrich the program. To accommodate the adult learner's schedule, classes are offered in the evening and on Saturdays. In addition to on-site delivery, courses are offered over the Interactive Learning Network available at most high schools. The course sequence is designed to spiral through five major topic areas three times before completion of study. The spokes of the wheel are linked and the levels build on one another. The spokes of the wheel are: - Systems
